Access to Information

Students have the right to request access to University records that contain their own personal information. To request access to MPAS student records, students should contact the MPAS Program Office at mpas@usask.ca. With the exception of certain evaluative material or the personal information of others, students generally have the right to review their file. Most requests can be addressed informally by the MPAS Program Office. If a student is unsatisfied with the response from the MPAS Program Office, they may submit a formal Access to Information request to the University’s Access and Privacy Officer at privacy@usask.ca. In circumstances where the MPAS Program Office is uncertain about how to respond to a request, the Office may consult the Access and Privacy Officer or refer the student to them to ensure the matter is handled appropriately.

Students who wish to give permission for another person or organization to access certain financial or academic information may do so through the University’s Proxy Access Management tool. This tool allows students to grant view-only access, and permission may be modified or revoked by the student at any time. Without explicit consent through Proxy Access Management or other documented authorization, the MPAS Program Office will not release a student’s personal or academic information to a third party, except as required by law.

All requests and releases of student information will be managed in accordance with the University of Saskatchewan’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Policy and applicable legislation. Student information will only be used and disclosed for the purposes for which it was collected, unless otherwise authorized by law.
