Your support to the College of Medicine will make a difference and provide an immediate impact. Gifts can be made in many ways to match to match the interests of the donor.

Class of 1994 Memorial Funds

Dr. Tim Clugston Memorial Bursary

Gifts from the College of Medicine Class of 1994, family, and friends in Memory of Dr. Tim Clugston, who was a skilled family physician, community leader, and entrepreneur. He spent his life serving the community of Medicine Hat, Alberta. Supporting this bursary provides financial support to a student in financial need pursuing a Doctor of medicine Degree in the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan and demonstrates interest in pursuing a residency in rural family medicine.

Dr. Elisabeth Wagner Memorial Bursary

Gifts from the College of Medicine Class of 1994, family, and friends in Memory of Dr. Elisabeth Wagner, who was a skilled obstetrician-gynecologist, a respected physician, leader, and educator in Calgary. A committed mother, wife, and friend. Supporting this bursary provides financial support to a student in financial need pursuing a Doctor of medicine Degree in the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan and demonstrates interest in Women’s Health. 

Class of 2012 Fund 

Gifts from the College of Medicine Class of 2012. This fund supports the interests of the College of Medicine and its students. Initially funds were raised for the Clinical Learning Resource Centre, and additional funds will support priorities in the college. 

College of Medicine First Year Award

Gifts from College of Medicine alumni. Supporting this bursary provides financial support to a student in financial need entering the Doctor of Medicine program at the University of Saskatchewan. The award is meant to welcome students beginning studies in the College of Medicine.

Reunion Medical Student Bursary (Endowment)

Gifts from the College of Medicine alumni through the Highlights Reunion in Medicine event. Supporting this bursary provides financial support to multiple students in financial need pursuing a Doctor of Medicine Degree in the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. Supporting the endowment will allow for capital growth.

Reunion Medical Student Bursary (Spendable)

Gifts from the College of Medicine alumni through the Highlights Reunion in Medicine event. Supporting this bursary provides financial support to multiple students in financial need pursuing a Doctor of Medicine Degree in the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. Supporting the spendable will allow the college to provide immediate financial assistance to students.

Many of our generous alumni and friends decide to leave a gift in their will to the University of Saskatchewan to support the areas they care about most. In fact, this is by far the most common way of making a future gift. More information

A gift of life insurance can enable you to leave a significant legacy to the University of Saskatchewan at a relatively low annual cost. Life insurance proceeds are paid out directly to your beneficiaries outside your estate, therefore; your gift will not be diminished due to taxes, probate or administration fees. More information

Next to personal real estate, registered retirement accounts are the most popular investment for Canadians, and generally are the single biggest assets owned besides a home.

Generally people name their surviving spouse as the beneficiary of their RRSP. However, if the beneficiary of your RRSP is someone other than your spouse or dependent(s), the value of the RRSP will be taxed as ordinary income, often at the highest marginal tax rate. Therefore, it is one of the most heavily taxed estate assets to pass to children. More information

A gift of real estate to the University of Saskatchewan can be an excellent option for many people. Gifts of property are carefully screened and assessed for suitability before they are accepted by the university. A charitable receipt for gifts of real estate will be issued only after it has been determined that the value placed on the property is correct. More information
