Regina Campus

The campus is located in Regina General Hospital. It includes the Health Sciences Learning Centre, Dilawri Simulation Centre, and Health Sciences Library.

Hospital Setting

The campus is in Regina General Hospital. Residents, junior and senior medical students, and physicians are nearby. Students also gain experience at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre and Pasqua Hospital.

Dilawri Simulation Centre

Guided by physicians, students can experience medical situations ranging from emergency room visits to delivery simulations. They also learn and practice skills such as suturing and ultrasound.

Study and Learning Space

Study space, technology equipped classrooms, break out rooms, a student lounge and clinical exam rooms are conveniently located in the Health Sciences Learning Centre. The Health Sciences Library offers learning resources and study space.

Research

Students who are interested in conducting research have opportunities to apply for research projects. Research mentorship and support is available.

Medicine Programs

Regina campus undergraduate program video

The College of Medicine's Regina campus is located in Regina General Hospital. Students are based here for the first two years of the program.

In Year 3, some students have clerkship programs at training sites throughout Saskatchewan.

The curriculum is the same as the Saskatoon campus.

In Year 4, students prepare from their residency match. Here’s where 2021 Regina-based graduates matched in CaRMs:

  • 50%: Family Medicine 
  • 50%: Comination of Anesthesia, Anatomical Pathology,  Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Otolaryngology, Pediatrics, Phyical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Psychiatry

After completing a Medical Doctor degree, approximately 60% of students continued their training with the University of Saskatchewan in 2020.

The program helps to navigate the pathways and resources available to Indigenous students as they train to become physicians.
