Description:
Health-care professionals are facing increased job demands and disruptions, compounded by societal changes and a rapidly changing workplace. Many are feeling isolated, wounded, vulnerable, uncertain about the future, and experiencing individual and collective loss. Yet, in our roles as health professionals, educators, team members and leaders within health care organizations, it is possible to face these challenges feeling robust, connected and resourceful. In this talk, Dr Epstein will discuss needed changes at the individual, team, educational and organizational levels. By developing habits of attentiveness, curiosity, beginner’s mind and presence, we can become more engaged and effective, and craft educational systems that help learners build self-awareness, communication and teamwork, and be more compassionate with patients, colleagues and themselves.
