National Indigenous Peoples Day

The Division of Social Accountability welcomes all to join us in celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day and Indigenous History Month.

June 21, 2026 marks the 30th Anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day. It is celebrated on summer solstice, the longest day of the year and a time that represents renewal and connection.

June is also National Indigenous History Month. Observing both celebrations gives us an opportunity to recognize the rich history, cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

The Division of Social Accountability, Office of the Vice Dean Indigenous Health, invites all members of the College of Medicine to be active in learning, sharing, and celebrations this June.

Join the conversation by using hashtags #NIHM2026 and #NIPD2026.

Take advantage of these opportunities to commemorate this history in the month of June and beyond!
