About the Session
Clinician educators are navigating a new reality as artificial intelligence and large language models reshape teaching, learning, communication, and assessment. In this presentation, Professor Eaton introduces postplagiarism, a framework for understanding academic integrity in an era where human–AI collaboration is becoming the norm.
She highlights six core tenets of postplagiarism that challenge traditional definitions of plagiarism and influence assessment design, professional identity, and ethical practice. Participants will leave with practical strategies to build integrity‑centered learning cultures, rather than relying on surveillance‑based approaches, within medical education.
About the Speaker
Dr. Sarah Eaton is a Full Professor in the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary and an Honorary Associate Professor at Deakin University. A scholar and educator since 1994, she is internationally recognized for her work in academic integrity and has delivered keynotes and workshops in more than a dozen countries. In 2016, she was invited to The White House for the Technology in English event. Dr. Eaton is Editor‑in‑Chief of the International Journal for Educational Integrity and the author of multiple books.
