As part of its continued focus on improving physicians’ health and wellbeing (a goal within the SMA’s current strategic plan), the SMA continues its important work in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. To support the advancement of knowledge and understanding of racism within the Saskatchewan medical community, the SMA and CPSS administered a survey on racism to physicians, residents, and medical students in Saskatchewan.

The two organizations have analysed the data and compiled a report of the survey findings. Racism is an issue that is sometimes uncomfortable to talk about. As a physician community we must learn about racism and share experiences to prevent it from occurring. Additionally, we must provide the necessary supports to our colleagues who experience or witness it. Doctors Nnamdi Ndubuka, SMA Physician Advocate, EDI, and Dr. Dapo Mabadeje, Chair, Diversity and Bias Committee at CPSS will present the survey results.

Hosted by PGME.
