About

Dr. Katie Felton is a pediatric hematologist oncologist who joined the University of Saskatchewan faculty in September 2019.  She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Simon Fraser University, followed by a Master of Science degree in Medical Genetics at the University of Alberta.   She received her medical school certification from the Cummings School of Medicine, University of Calgary.   This was followed by a pediatrics residency at the University of Saskatchewan and sub-speciality residency training in pediatric hematology/ oncology at the University of Alberta. 

Clinical Interests

Dr Felton’s clinical and research interests are focused on pediatric oncology.  She is the site principal investigator for Children’s Oncology Group (COG).  COG is an international clinical trial consortium, leading clinical trials in the biology of cancer, therapeutic clinical trials, and supportive care in pediatric oncology patients. 

Dr Felton is oncology physician lead for the pediatric neuro-oncology program for children in Saskatchewan, in collaboration with neuro-surgeon Dr Julia Radic.  She is a member of the Canadian pediatric brain tumour consortium bringing novel and innovative therapies to the patients of Saskatchewan.
