Purpose

In order to comply with the RDoS Collective Agreement (Agreement between University of Saskatchewan and The Resident Doctors of Saskatchewan for the period January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2017) the following payment procedures have been set up.

Scope of this Policy

All Residents covered under the RDoS Collective Agreement.

Definitions

In-House Call refers to that period of duty during which the Resident is required to remain in the hospital.

Out-of-House or Home Call refers to that period of duty in which the Resident is allowed to leave the hospital premises, but be available to be called back to the hospital.

Procedures

1)      Excess In-House Call Duty

Attach a copy of the valid call schedule when submitting the form to the PGME Office. Please note that there must be clearly defined reasons and justification, certified by the Program Director, that the excess in-house call was an absolute requirement.

2)      Statutory Holiday

The PGME Office must receive the form within 30 days of the statutory holiday. Attach a copy of the valid call schedule when submitting the form to the PGME Office. If the form is incomplete, or the appropriate signatures of approval are missing, the form will be returned to the Resident.

3)      Middle Day of a Long Weekend

The Middle Day of a Long Weekend form must be submitted to the PGME Office with a copy of the call schedule attached. Please note that the on-call day will be verified.
