CanERA General Standards of Accreditation for Institutions with Residency Programs require that teaching faculty receive regular feedback on their teaching, which includes feedback from residents. The PGME office has outlined a process for the maintenance of confidentiality regarding resident evaluation of faculty (see the attached flowchart for details).
This will ensure that the process in place for faculty evaluation is being observed and utilized. CanERA Accreditation standard 7 outlines the requirement that teachers deliver and support all aspects of the residency program effectively. Also, that teachers are assessed, recognized, and supported in their development as positive role models for residents in the residency program.
