Provincial Department Head Message
Dr. Kelly is a proud Saskatchewan native and an alumnus of the University of Saskatchewan's College of Medicine. During his residency, he earned a PhD in Anatomy and Cell Biology, with research conducted at the University of Saskatchewan. He further advanced his expertise as a clinical fellow in Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology at the Cleveland Clinic.
Since returning to the University of Saskatchewan in 2008, Dr. Kelly has held numerous distinguished roles within both the University and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA). He served as Residency Program Director for Neurosurgery, Head of Neurosurgery for the Saskatoon Division, contributed to the COVID-19 Emergency Response Committee and was the Saskatchewan Clinical Stroke Research Chair for 10-years. Currently, Dr. Kelly is the Fred H. Wigmore Professor and Provincial Department Head in the Department of Surgery, as well as the Knight Family Enhancement Chair in Neurological Surgery.
