About

Dr C. Adams is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry. She has completed her undergraduate medical degree in 1997 at Facultatea de Medicina si Farmacie Victor Babes, in Timisoara, Romania, followed by a MSc in Neuroscience at University of Western Ontario. Subsequently she has completed her postgraduate training in psychiatry at University of Saskatchewan, receiving her FRCPC in 2010. Following the completion of a Fellowship at University of Toronto in 2011, she has returned to The Department of Psychiatry, University of Saskatchewan where she has established the Attachment Research Lab. For the past decade she has focused her research on the role of attachment in mental health. Recently she has become interested in the role of religious/spiritual views in promoting resilience or creating vulnerability for mental health. She is also interested in the role of Humanities (Art, Music, Literature, Religion) in promoting resilience and wellbeing.

We are currently working on several projects investigating:

- The relationship between Religious/Spiritual Views and Mental Health in the Province of Saskatchewan

- The relationship between attachment, trauma and substance abuse in creating vulnerability for psychosis and suicide
