About

Dr. Shi grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She moved to Edmonton, Alberta to pursue her BSc. in Occupational Therapy (OT). She obtained her M.D. from the University of Alberta and completed residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Ottawa.  She has subspecialty diploma in Electromyography (EMG) and training in Clinical Quality Improvement.

She returned to Saskatoon and was appointed to the Department of PM&R in 2018. Dr. Shi is the Medical Director of Stroke Rehabilitation and Medical Director of the Electrodiagnostic Laboratory at Saskatoon City Hospital. She is a member of the Saskatchewan Stroke Expert Panel and Quality Improvement Lead for the Department of PM&R.

Dr. Shi is an Assistant Professor at the University of Saskatchewan and a Clinician Teacher. She is a member of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation national exam board for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
