About

Dr. Saima Alvi received her undergraduate, post graduate training in paediatrics and fellowship in pediatric hematology/ Oncology in Pakistan. She has a membership in the discipline of pediatrics from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (FCPS). Dr. Alvi in 2009 came to Vancouver, Canada and completed a 3-years clinical fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/ Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant from BC- Children Hospital Vancouver. In 2012 she joined The Hospital for Sick Children Toronto, in Hematology/Oncology/ Bone Marrow Transplant that further enhanced the experience. Dr. Alvi then moved to Saskatchewan and worked with Pedaitric Oncology at Saskatchewan Cancer Agency for five years. Since January 2022 she has joined as Pediatric Hematologist/ Oncologist at Jim Pattison Children's Hospital, Saskatoon.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Alvi’s clinical and research work is focused on childhood malignancies. She is a lead physician for child hood cancer survivorship and late effects program in Saskatchewan. She is also an active member of Children’s Oncology Group (COG)-Long Term Follow-up, Clinical Care Translation Task Force. The main purpose of the task force is to develop and implement guidelines and promoting the health needs of Childhood Cancer Survivors.
