Dr Obaid is a Professor in Musculoskeletal Radiology at the Royal University Hospital. He completed his Radiology residency at the University of Leicester (UK) followed by a musculoskeletal fellowship training at the University of Toronto. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology in the UK and Canada. He published book chapters and a number of articles in international peer reviewed journals. Dr Obaid has been a member of the International Skeletal Society since 2012 and a member of Skeletal Radiology editorial board since 2021. His
research interests are in quantitative MRI imaging and telerobotic musculoskeletal ultrasound. Dr Obaid pioneered the development of the first musculoskeletal telerobotic ultrasound system in Collaboration with the robotics lab at the University of Saskatchewan. He is currently a guest editor for Diagnostics Journal. He is a member of the University of Saskatchewan OVDR executive committee. Dr Obaid previously served as a member of University of Saskatchewan Ethics Review Board.
