About

Dr. Stephen Lee is an Associate Professor of Medicine as well as an Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine Physician with the University of Saskatchewan.

He completed his MD and his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Alberta. This was followed by an Infectious Disease Fellowship at McMaster University. After his clinical training, he also obtained a Master of Science in Health and Clinical Informatics from Oregon Health and Science University and a Machine Learning Specialization Certificate.

During his work in Saskatchewan, he has had various leadership roles during the COVID-19 pandemic. He was the Clinical Co-Lead of the Therapeutics Expert Group, creating treatment guidelines for the province, and also the Co-Lead of the Early Therapeutics Program (monoclonal antibodies, paxlovid, remdesivir, and other outpatient COVID-19 treatments).

Clinically he has a wide range of practice ranging from both inpatient and outpatient infectious diseases (including HIV and viral hepatitis).

His research focuses on clinical informatics, data science, and machine learning within medicine.
