Research Funding

Up to 2002, much of my research work was related to the cellular physiology of brown adipose tissue, funded by the Medical Research Council of Canada and the Canadian Institute for Health Research. I took two sabbatical leaves working with S. Hemmingsen (Protein research group) at the National Research Council developing expertise and interest in the molecular genetics of cell division. This collaboration resulted in a CIHR / RPP research grant from 2001-2003 and to publications (in press and submitted) to J. Biol. Chem. I am often asked to review research grants for NSERC and CIHR and manuscripts for Am. J. Physiol., Physiol. Genomics, and Metabolism.
