Winter 2020
Hi! My name is Ozlem Sari, and I am the Research Facilitator at the Department of Medicine. I have a BA in Economics from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey; and an MA and PhD in Sociology from Northeastern University, Boston, USA.
Before taking this role, I worked as a term-faculty at the Florida International University and the University of Saskatchewan. I then worked as a senior researcher at the Health Quality Council of Saskatchewan for seven years. I also have been an active community member in Saskatoon, serving on the board of the Global Gathering Place since 2016 (as the board chair between June 2017 – 2019).
I have extensive experience in research design, research methods, survey design, quantitative and qualitative methods. In my current role as a research facilitator, I support faculty by:
- identifying available research funding opportunities and assisting with research development,
- making recommendations for individual or collaborative research projects,
- assisting in application and proposal development (including advice in budgeting and project management), and
- acting as a liaison between faculty members, research groups, Research Services and Graduate Studies, and external granting agencies.
If you have any questions about research, do not hesitate to contact me at Ozlem.sari@usask.ca. I will be happy to find answers to your research questions.
