About
Ninad grew up in India and graduated with an M.Sc. In Microbiology from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He obtained an M.S. In Cell Biology from the Georgia State University, Atlanta. Following this, Ninad moved to Canada to get his Ph.D. in Virology at the University of Alberta. His work involved studying the interaction between poxvirus and the host's innate immune system. He was a post-doctoral fellow at the School of Public Health at the University of Alberta. His work focused on the development of Point-of-Care diagnostic for the detection of the malaria parasite and DENV to be used in resource-limited settings. As part of this project, he was also involved in carrying out a field trial for malaria diagnostics in rural India. He completed his Clinical Microbiology Fellowship (ABMM), University of Utah/ARUP Laboratories, Salt Lake City, Utah in 2021.
