Statement from USask President
President Peter Stoicheff addresses the University of Saskatchewan campus community.
The entire USask community stands with Black students, faculty and staff at our campuses across Saskatchewan. We are deeply saddened, and concerned, by recent events in the USA and Canada, and reaffirm our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Our university is a place of discovery, but it is also a place of diversity and respect. We strive to make our campuses across Saskatchewan inclusive, safe and supportive places for our faculty, staff and students. We acknowledge, accept and welcome diverse opinions and choices, but we will not tolerate discriminatory or harassing behaviour in those environments.
Fighting racism requires all of us to act, all of the time.
We are here to support you during this time, and a range of services are available at the Student Wellness Centre and Student Affairs and Outreach. Staff and faculty can access confidential counseling through the Employee and Family Assistance Program.
