Getting to Know: Lise LeBlanc
Lise LeBlanc is a program administrator in the Department of Medicine. She is based in Saskatoon and supports the Post Graduate Medical Education (PGME) Core Internal Medicine Residency program.
LeBlanc is brand-new to the department, as of November 2023. LeBlanc’s work with residents includes overseeing Academic Half-Days, OSCEs, SIM lab, electives, research, “and likely other things I’m sure I’ll soon find myself involved in as I get more familiar with the role,” she says.
Prior to joining the College of Medicine, LeBlanc worked as an Administrative Coordinator at the Saskatchewan Medical Association for five years. Her position included serving as the assistant to the Economics Director, as well as being the point person for all 26 medical specialties in Saskatchewan (working especially closely with Family Practice). LeBlanc also supported various committees, including the Economic Commitee, Tariff Committee, Intersectional Council and the Negotiations Committee. “They’re the ones who work with the Ministry to bargain physician payments, benefits, etc.,” she says.
When not in her role as Program Administrator, LeBlanc loves performing, costuming, tattoos, Halloween, and all things horror. She is an avid community volunteer, spending time visiting patients at the Regional Psychiatric Centre, serving as a board member for Saskatoon Sexual Health, and founding and running a nonprofit for single moms.
“And I just started a swing dance class through the University!” she adds.
