Getting to Know: Kaylene Unger
Kaylene Unger is an administrative assistant for the Department of Medicine. Her role supports the department’s administrative team and its faculty.
“I make sure everyone is able to function in their roles by providing administrative support,” she says.
Unger joined the department in October 2022. By now you may recognize her name from the weekly Grand Rounds emails sent out to department members and staff. She is responsible for coordinating these weekly events and many others within the department.
Unger is from Regina, Sask. She moved to Saskatoon in 2018 and worked previously as an office administrative assistant for the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) in the Transfusion and Hematology Departments at Royal University Hospital.
She has a unique educational background, which includes an office administration certificate, a Journeyman’s certification for hairstyling and a legal assistant/paralegal diploma.
When she’s not at work, Unger enjoys pursuing her passion for health and fitness and spending time with her three-year-old son and her family.
