Getting to Know: Sherrise Mareschal

Sherrise Mareschal is a program administrator in the Department of Medicine. She supports four of the department’s subspecialty programs.

Sherrise joined the department in 2018, first working with the General Internal Medicine (GIM) and Respirology programs, then after some shuffling now oversees the Cardiology, GIM, Rheumatology and Nephrology programs.

Sherrise grew up in Saskatoon. After some time spent working as a massage therapist, then with a company specializing in financial management for physicians, she found herself in the Department of Medicine.

As the first contact for residents when they start the program, Sherrise is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the programs, including scheduling rotations, attending committee meetings or even “just being someone to talk to,” she says.

She says she enjoys the relationships built with residents and program directors.

“There’s a lot of respect,” she says. “I enjoy seeing the residents start and complete their training. It’s definitely rewarding.”

Outside of work, Sherrise enjoys spending time with her family including children Harper, 9, and Hendrix, 7. This includes lots of running around to hockey and soccer practices and games.

This summer, she is looking forward to hanging out at her backyard pool as well as heading to Waskesiu for some lake time.
