Andrew (Andy) McLetchie is a healthcare leader with over 30 years of nursing and health care management experience. He holds a Masters of Health Administration from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alberta. Over his nursing and management career, Andy has worked in various roles in Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Ireland. Andy is recognized for his dedication to patient-centred care, his commitment to supporting northern Indigenous communities, and his passion for improving healthcare systems.
He served as Vice President of Integrated Northern Health and Chief Nursing Officer at the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) from 2017 to 2025. In this role, Andy was instrumental in expanding mental health and addictions services across Saskatchewan, strengthening nursing partnerships, and enhancing healthcare delivery for rural and northern communities.
Before joining SHA in 2017, Andy was CEO of the Mamawetan Churchill River Health Region, where he worked closely with Indigenous communities and regional leaders to improve access to essential services in some of Saskatchewan’s most remote areas. Andy’s leadership has focused on community-driven solutions, ensuring that healthcare services remain accessible, responsive, and of the highest quality.
In 2025 Andy was honoured with the Nursing Excellence Award at the Boreal Healthcare Foundation’s Med Gala, acknowledging his contributions to the well-being of Saskatchewan’s health system and his support for collaborative healthcare teams.
