When the Canadian Pacific Railway entered the Northwest Territories in 1882, Moosomin quickly established itself as one of the leading towns on the prairies. Moosomin has a welcoming small town atmosphere and a variety of restaurants, cafes and shops. There is an abundance of recreational activities such as golf, nearby lake and regional park, sports fields, indoor sports simulators, bowling, skating, curling, cross-country skiing, and a brand new gym. HOSPITAL
27 Acute Care and 56 Long-Term Care beds.

CLINIC
There are 8 physicians. Clinic hours are 9am to 4/5pm. Learners have weekly on-call duty, including at least 1-2 weekend days per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Shifts are 0800 to 2330 for UGME & 0800 to 0800 for PGME.

Nurse Practitioner, Physical Therapy, visiting Dietician, visiting Diabetic Nurse Educator, home care, Mental Health and Addictions Counselling, Primary Health Care Nurse, Public Health Nursing, Ultrasound Technicians, Athletic Therapy, Audiology. Satellite clinics in four nearby towns. Learners may participate in two of those satellite clinics, with transportation provided by the attending physician.
HOUSING
  • Learners are encouraged to find their own housing.
  • The Moosomin Healthcare Foundation may fund housing if learners are unable to find their own.
