Melfort is nestled in the heart of Saskatchewan's great North-East, a land dominated by soil rich farmland and a variety of forests, lakes and beaches.

HOSPITAL
The Melfort hospital has 24 inpatient beds (3 high acuity, 1 palliative), provides permanent general surgery and obstetrics service, and hosts rotating specialists in plastic surgery, orthopedics, urology, otolaryngology, physiatry, and opthalmology. The emergency department has 11 beds and services on average 40-50 people per day.
Additional Services at the Melfort Hospital include Exercise Therapy, Mental Health & Addiction, Nutrition Counseling, Occupational Therapy, Take-home Naloxone Kits and Telehealth.

The Melfort clinic is attached to the hospital. They have 13 family physicians. Melfort's population is 6,000 and physicians in the community provide primary care services to approximately 16,000 and obstetrics/general surgery service to a larger catchment area of 30,000. Clinics begin between 9 and 10 a.m. for most physicians, although they often complete inpatient rounding and procedures beforehand. Call is completed in the ER in Melfort and will range from 4 to 6 per month. It is a 24h call shift, or on the weekends days (0800-1800) or nights (1800-0800).
