Welcome to Touchwood Qu'Appelle, a primary care network based out of the historic town of Fort Qu'Appelle. Treaty 4 signatories gathered here in 1874. Your elective will start with a brief tour of All Nations Healing Hospital, a unique facility in its funding and care model. Recently renovated and including co-located clinical services such as community nutritionists, mental health counsellors, traditional knowledge keepers, chronic kidney disease and satellite dialysis centre, a women's health centre, as well as a typical small town hospital with inpatient (~14 acute care beds) and ER care.

Clinics will be either in Fort Qu'Appelle or Lestock (~40 minutes from Fort Qu'Appelle). Clinics run 10:00 or 10:30am until 4:00 or 4:30pm. Fort Qu'Appelle clinic has primary care nursing, homecare, therapies, as well as mental health and addictions providers. Lestock (St. Joseph's Integrated Care Centre) clinic has onsite laboratory, x-ray, and primary care nursing. You will also provide occasional long-term care for residents at the attached facility.

Call is 24-hours, done in the ER, and depends on the attending's schedule. Working on call at ANHH includes managing outpatients who present to the ER, as well as covering inpatient concerns between 17:00 and 8:00 the following morning. Call is considered home heavy but quite variable.

The town motto is "4 lakes and 4 seasons 4 everyone" with good reason. For the historically minded, consider a visit to the Métis community of Lebret and its church and Shrine. Treaty 4 Treaty Days is a large gathering in mid-September of Treaty 4 nations all over southeastern Saskatchewan and southwestern Manitoba.
