A Passionate Leader in Medicine

Title: Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Family Medicine

  • Site Director of the Swift Current Family Medicine Program (2009-2022)
  • Saskatchewan Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship Director (2017-2022)

From Yellowknife to Swift Current

Born in Yellowknife, NWT, Dr. Lee has called Swift Current home since 1986. After completing her graduate studies, she returned to Swift Current in 2009, where she continues to practice comprehensive family medicine and contribute to her community.

Championing Rural Medicine

Dr. Lee's dedication to rural medicine is evident in her work and vision. She believes rural physicians are unique specialists who are deeply integrated into their communities. They adapt and collaborate to provide essential services, making significant contributions to medical education through all stages, from admissions to postgraduate mentorship.

Career Highlights and Achievements

Dr. Lee has led the Swift Current Family Medicine Residency program and the Saskatchewan Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (SLIC) program, which have successfully retained rural-trained physicians in Saskatchewan. Her longitudinal comprehensive clinical care in Swift Current has allowed her to build strong relationships with her patients and colleagues, fostering a collaborative and high-standard team practice.

With 14 years of medical practice, Dr. Lee shares a valuable piece of advice with medical students:

“It’s all about mindset and attitude. Find your purpose and be passionate about something outside of yourself. Work with colleagues that elevate you. Practice gratefulness and cultivate compassion.”

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Lee enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two children, embracing an active lifestyle.
