RRC Member Inducted Into Canadian Academy of Health Sciences
Dr. John Gordon is among 49 researchers elected as Fellows of the CAHS in 2019
Congratulations to Dr. John Gordon from the Department of Respirology, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, for his recent induction as a Fellow in the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. Following the announcement, Dr. Gordon stated, “I am proud to join my other RRC colleagues as a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, and look forward to serving the Academy in their government and non-government assessments of health in Canada, as they see fit."
John Gordon is a leading Canadian immunopathologist who is internationally recognized for his cutting edge work to eliminate asthma and food allergy-induced anaphylaxis. For over 30 years, Dr. Gordon has conducted research on immunotherapeutics in allergic and other inflammatory diseases and has published landmark, highly-cited, studies on mast cells. Dr. Gordon is the President of the Canadian Society for Immunology, a member of the Gairdner International Prize selection committee, a member of the advisory board for CIHR's Institute of Infection and Immunity, and the recipient of numerous prestigious awards.
Being inducted into the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) is one of the highest honours for Canadians in the health sciences community. CAHS Fellows are recognized for their innovative leadership, research excellence and commitment to advancing academic health science.
