About
The DSA partners and works collaboratively with members of the College of Medicine and the broader University of Saskatchewan (USask) community to lead the EDIA efforts. Diverse representation across the student, staff, and faculty complement in the College of Medicine ensures that we are able to fulfill our social accountability mandate, while our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) responsibilities ensures our mutual success. In March of 2024, the University of Saskatchewan launched its (EDI) Framework for Action, which set forward six strategic priority in the area of EDI:
- Student experience
- Teaching and learning
- Research, scholarly, and artistic work
- Employee experience
- Systems
- Physical space
The Framework for Action follows the 2020 EDI Policy.
In 2025, the university released its Accessibility Plan, aligning goals and actions with the six strategic priorities of the unversity's EDI Framework. Both the Framework for Action and Accessibility Plan were developed in consultation with students, staff, faculty, and leaders across the campus community.
It is important to acknowledge that Indigenous Peoples in Canada are recognzied as a distinct group by the Canadian Constitution, and that great diversity exists among Indigenous Peoples. While the DSA works to be inclusive of Indigenous priorities and needs, specific resources and initiatives regarding Indigenous health and Indigenization are the responsibility of the Office Vice-Dean Indigenous Health.
