ZOOM

Becoming Nicole shares the story of a family that adopted identical twin boys, their questioning of their views on gender and identity and the transition of Wyatt to Nicole within the complexity of community and school.  Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist Amy Ellis Nutt spent almost four years reporting this story and tells it with unflinching honesty, intimacy, and empathy. Nutt also explains the medical perspective, describing the complexity of gender development during embryonic development in utero and shares details of gender affirmation surgery. This book provides a full perspective of transgender within an engaging, profoundly moving true story.

The Division of Social Accountability has 16 copies of Becoming Nicole to give away to the first 16 people that register for book club.
