*Please note that all volunteers are asked to help out with race set-up/take-down, if possible.

Position Details

Saturday, September 9th, 2016 – Saskatoon (5:30 AM – 8 AM)

  • Assists the event coordinator to setup pylons, tents, water stations, start/finish areas, etc as required

Saturday, September 9th, 2016 – Saskatoon (12 PM – 1 PM)

  • Assists the event coordinator to take down pylons, tents, water stations, etc.
  • Cheers participants as race comes to a close!!!

Saturday, September 9th, 2016 – Saskatoon (8 AM - 11 AM)

  • Primary contact for injuries to runners on event day and subsequent management such as calling 911 and providing basic first aid
  • Must hold, at the very least, a current, recognized first aid/CPR certificate

Saturday, September 9th, 2016 – Saskatoon (8 AM – 12 PM)

  • Setup and take down a water station with help from other volunteers
  • Fill water/juice in cups
  • Hand out water/juice to runners/walkers as they pass by your station
  • Have loads of fun cheering on the runners and walkers as they pass by

Saturday, September 9th, 2016 – Saskatoon (8 AM – 12 PM)

  • Hand out food to runners and race volunteers
  • Assists in the setup and take down of food tent

Saturday, September 9th, 2016 – Saskatoon (7:30 AM – 9 AM)

  • Accept pledge forms brought in, provide information to runners and answer any questions they may have.
  • Hand out race packages to runners if they have not picked up before

Saturday, September 9th, 2016 – Saskatoon (8 AM – 12 PM)

  • Direct runners along the correct path
  • Answer participants' questions and address injuries by calling 911 or comforting participants
  • Cheer runners as participants pass you

Saturday, September 9th, 2016 – Saskatoon (8 AM - 1 PM)

  • Go crazy taking lots of photographs with your D-SLR or point-and-shoot camera!!
  • These will be posted on the website and used as promotion for Miles for Smiles 2017
  • Miles for Smiles has never had entertainers along the course, but we are open to ideas and suggestions

Saturday, September 9th, 2016 – Saskatoon (One or two hour requirement at race start and race end)

  • Lead biker to ensure that runners are following the correct path.
  • Last biker to ensure that the last runner has been accounted for. No runner shall be left behind!!!

Saturday, September 10th, 2016 – One or two hour requirement between race times

  • An individual who can run at an even pace and come within a few minutes of their announced time
