*Please note that all volunteers are asked to help out with race set-up/take-down, if possible.

Position Details

  • Assists the event coordinator with the setup pylons, tents, water stations, start/finish areas, etc. as required

  • Assists the event coordinator to take down pylons, tents, water stations, etc.
  • Cheers participants as race comes to a close

  • Coordinate racer check-in
  • Accept pledge forms brought in, provide information to runners and answer any questions they may have
  • Hand out race packages to runners if they have not picked up before
  • Collect and safely store personal items of participants while they race

  • Go crazy taking lots of photographs with your D-SLR or point-and-shoot camera!!
  • These will be posted on the website and used as promotion for next year's event

  • Setup and take down a water station with help from other volunteers
  • Fill water/juice in cups
  • Hand out water/juice to runners/walkers as they pass by your station
  • Have loads of fun cheering on the runners and walkers as they pass by

  • Lead biker to ensure that runners are following the correct path
  • Last biker to ensure that the last runner has been accounted for - no runner shall be left behind!!!

  • Hand out food and water to runners and race volunteers
  • Assists in the setup and take down of food tent

  • Direct runners along the correct path
  • Answer participants' questions and address injuries by calling 911 or comforting participants
  • Cheer runners as participants pass you

  • Create a playlist filled with upbeat and fun music (to be approved by the organizing committee)
  • Control the speakers and music equipment

  • Stay at the finish line and record the order of the racers as they come through
