Global Health Pre-Departure Training

Please note that in light of the recent COVID-19-related travel restrictions for healthcare workers and learners communicated by the University of Saskatchewan and College of Medicine, we are postponing the predeparture training until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. For more information please contact the Global Health Manager, Carlyn.seguin@usask.ca. Global Health Pre-Departure Training

Pre-departure preparation is mandatory for all medical students participating in international study/service learning experiences, including students participating in the IFMSA exchange program and the Making the Links Certificate in Global Health program. This preparation is very important for ensuring well-rounded, safe and ethical global health experiences. The division/CoM Global Health Committee hosts two pre-departure in-person training sessions annually. The content includes information and discussion on global health issues, personal health and safety, the University of Saskatchewan’s risk management requirements, cultural awareness and ethical considerations.
