Andrew was born and raised in the heart of the prairies outside Regina, SK. As a young, rambunctious kid, he learned at a young age that he really did bleed green. (Go Riders!) After high school, he left the farm and traded in his dusty coveralls and John Deere hat for a stethoscope and worked as a Paramedic. As his love for prehospital medicine blossomed, so too did his love for the clinical aspects of medicine, which served as his launch pad into the rigors of academia. Andrew studied undergraduate biology at the University of Regina and then moved to the Paris of the Prairies where he completed his MD and began an EM residency. While his academic interests include pre-hospital medicine and critical care, he loves to spend time fishing with his son Rhys and new puppy Otis.
