"What place does ideology have in medical education scholarship?"

"What place does ideology have in medical education scholarship?"

An ideology is a system of beliefs and values, and as such some form of ideological positioning is intrinsic to human activity, including medical education. However, to have an ideological stance is often considered to be subjective and partial and therefore something that should be avoided in scholarly work. Dr. Ellaway will revisit this thorny issue and explore what place ideology does and should have in the conduct of scholarly work in contemporary medical education.
